Lee Chang-min, who is about to enlist, “There is no return to Jeju after being weeded out”

Lee Chang-min made a commitment to Jeju United from before enlistment to after discharge.

On the 7th, the Korea Professional Football Federation held a press conference for the 5th media camp of the 2023 season K-League winter field training at Parev Hotel located in Seogwipo, Jeju Island. From 10:00 a.m., Jeju United, led by coach Ki-il Nam, participated.

It is Jeju that is proceeding with a long-term project step by step under the direction of director Nam Ki-il. This season’s goal is every opponent that will threaten Ulsan Hyundai and Jeonbuk Hyundai, the ‘second round’ that dominates the K-League stage. After being promoted, Jeju proved its potential by settling in Final A for two consecutive seasons. 메이저놀이터

There is a change in the squad. Joo Min-gyu, Zerso, and Yoon Bit-garam left, but quickly reorganized. The ‘Brazil Connection’ was completed by recruiting Yuri and Hayes, and reinforcements were completed across all positions by embracing Kim Seung-seop, Kim Hyung-geun, Yeon Je-woon, and Lee Ki-hyeok. Jeju entered the final hardening, looking at the goal of advancing to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League (ACL) after five years.

There are players armed with extraordinary motivation. Lee Chang-min is expected to enlist in the military this summer. Since joining in 2016, he has been active as a top midfielder in the league, and is a living witness of Jeju history who has experienced both the 2019 season relegation and the 2020 season promotion. Lee Chang-min will say goodbye to his fans for a while after taking charge of the Jeju midfield until his enlistment.

Q. Winter training

A. The atmosphere of the team is good. Sometimes the team changes a lot, sometimes it changes a little. I always aim for the best, but I couldn’t reach it. Even so, I think Jeju is a team that can be looked at enough. I hope it will be a year where I can achieve good results and maintain my ranking.

Q. Director Nam Ki-il and coaching staff

A. You became very soft during training. He encourages young players a lot. Among the newly joined coaches, I was looking forward to Coach Ha Dae-sung’s teaching method. At first, I focused on physical training and did not experience it. After getting injured in Thailand, I think he will join the squad within this week, so I’m looking forward to it. I think I need to learn things like football intelligence and sense.

Q. Shooting strength

A. Compared to last season’s shooting, effective shooting was lacking. I was frustrated myself, but I think it was the result of not trying that hard. This year, I want to do a lot of shooting practice and revive my senses. Players are also told to shoot with confidence. I want to make use of my strengths so that I do not deviate from team tactics.

Q. Military enlistment

A. I hope the date comes out soon. A warrant is likely to come out between April and June. There will be consequential goals this season, such as goals and offensive points, but I think it would be better to go to the army after doing it as usual. Even if you leave, of course you have to show a good image. I don’t want to return to Jeju in an abandoned state.

Q. Public Service

A. I was informed of the team to go to. This is the K4 League Geoje Citizen Soccer Team. Rumors circulated about the trip to Geoje, but it is not at all. The coach is a very nice person and I am familiar with the coaching staff. Aiming for promotion to the K3 League, I decided to join because I wanted to create good memories.
