Ilkay Gundogan (32-Manchester City) is moving to Barcelona.
“Barcelona are planning to announce the signing of Guendouane after the Champions League final,” Britain’s Daily Mail reported on Monday (Sept. 9), citing Spain’s Mundo Deportivo.
“The Man City captain is expected to join Barcelona next week. City are keen to keep hold of Guendouane, but the player is expected to move to Barcelona on a three-year contract, the most attractive option.”
German midfielder Guendouane joined City from Dortmund in the summer of 2016 for a fee of €27 million. Since then, he has been a consistent performer and a licorice in City’s golden era.

He also won five English Premier League (EPL) titles, two English FA Cups, four English Football League Cups, and two FA Community Shields with City. This season, he is leading City as captain.
Guendouan last signed a new contract in August 2019, which expires on June 30. He was thought to be set to stay after news of contract talks 메이저사이트 broke in January, but nothing has been formalized so far. He has been linked to Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain, among others.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Guendouane is believed to have chosen Barcelona in the end. The length of the contract was important to him, with Barcelona offering the longest at three years. Other clubs, including Man City, reportedly offered two years.
There are even reports that he took a pay cut to sign a three-year deal with Barcelona. The length of the contract was important to him as it could be the last club of his career.
Assuming Guendouzi moves to Barcelona, the UEFA Champions League (UCL) final against Inter Milan on Nov. 11 will be his last game for City. The ‘big one’ is an age-old dream for City. A trophy would be a beautiful send-off.
